Soulful Contemporary Candles is a local, family owned and operated business based in Cambridge. Our mission is to provide high quality candles with unique, out of this world fragrances at a reasonable price. 

The name Soulful Contemporary comes from our connection to contemporary dance and the passion and commitment we all share towards finding happiness and mindfulness through an awareness of our soul. Seeking the chance to freely express yourself, free from restriction or expectation to experience freedom and connection between the mind, body and soul. 

We have a huge and continuously growing and developing range of fragrances. This is due to our understanding and belief that fragrances can evoke and create special memories. We take a lot of time and care in the development and creation of each fragrance as we know that they can transport our mind, body and soul to a different place, a happy place. With over 30 different fragrances Soulful Contemporary Candles will have a unique candle that will take you to your happy place or create a new special memory. 

At Soulful Contemporary we take a holistic approach towards business. We show care and respect towards our bodies and souls by avoiding nasty chemicals. We also deeply care and respect our environment and therefore create natural, recyclable and sustainable products, not tested on animals.

Glass Jars

Soulful Contemporary jars are a timeless classic. Using only high quality raw materials combined with the world’s leading manufacturing process ensure a seamless, high strength candle jar that is elegant and tough! And of course all our jars come with the same high quality lids.

Our jars completely recyclable – just wash them out with some warm soapy water and the possibilities are endless.  A vase, pencil holder, lipstick container, when your expression is free you will surprise even yourself with your creativity.

Fragrance

Our fragrances are all highly purified and are guaranteed to be free of phthalates, paraffin and UV inhibitors. Our fragrances are not tested on animals. Some fragrances can and will cause a product to change colour, for example Vanilla fragrance can turn a light brownish colour (the colour of Vanilla) over time. This is not a fault of the fragrance but a natural reaction and shows that our fragrances contain high amounts of natural ingredients. Natural reactions mean you are dealing with natural products.

Wax & Wick

A natural plant based wax that is GMO FREE and contains NO paraffin, NO unnatural additives and is also VEGAN and KOSHER. 

Soulful Contemporary wicks are a flat braided candle wick made from textile-grade cotton.  All of our wicks are natural cotton and are Zinc and Lead free.

It is our mission to remember the ancient philosophy of balancing body, mind and soul. It is our responsibility to give you permission to take to do the things that make your soul happy. To encourage you to take time to notice the smaller things and to be mindful of each present moment.
